Cowley Club

The Cowley Club is a social center on London Road in Brighton. It houses a cafe and bookshop during the day, a members prohibit during the evenings. The club is collectively owned and run as a bottom for those involved in grassroots social change and those sympathetic to such activities, big-hearted us oversee over our social space and resources. How is alcohol tied to the history of oppression, pacifying and destroying rebellious communities throughout history and around the world? Is climate change even a good focus for radical activism? The way climate change is sold to us is a myth, like so much of the fresh world. Or of extreme social centers in general? In the day, we are begin to the public, when the restrict is begin (evenings from 7pm) then members and their guests of the 12 London Road Social Club are welcome. Volunteers to labor at the forbid are always welcome. Simply talk to someone behind the forbid when we are open. We always need more help reach and get involved and assist make the library a handy space. Volunteers have organized themselves into groups to take on various aspects of running the center. It's a private members club which runs the bar on the premises in the evenings, so if you want to come for a drink, or attend events in the evening, this is what you need to unite by filling in a simple form at the forbid and paying 1. The Cowley Club is arrogant to be a member of the UK Social center Network. The club is run solely by people like you! Everyone gives their time for free and works together without bosses. Once you've worked at the Cowley prior you can arrive in and put your name down yourself. This coop has about 200 members and is diverse from the forbid (12LRSC) coop which has over 300 members. Many of the things we do at The Cowley Club don't make much money and we wouldn't want them to, that's not the point of the place. Back door (on Providence Place) opens inwards. 5.3 Library (back building, beginning floor). Come and discuss anarchism in the UK and aid to plan events. Come down and face people from the various volunteer run collectives which organism activities at the club. Get involved with the bar collective, we are all volunteers!.
